Over a 12 week course the students will be learning the following objectives of art. They will be creating different pieces of art for each lesson. They will be using various mediums, such as Paint, Oil & Soft Pastels, Clay and Colored Pencils. In addition to learning the objectives they will also be learning how to use and care for the different mediums, plus some of the techniques involved with each one. Objective:
Student will learn to identify Contour, Gesture and Implied LINES.
SHAPE
Objective:
Student will learn to identify Geometric and Organic SHAPES in their art.
FORM
Objective:
Student will learn to identify Cone, Cube, Cylinder, Sphere and Pyramid FORMS. They will learn that all FORMS are a variation of these.
COLOR
Objective:
Student will learn to identify Primary and Secondary COLORS; warm, cool and neutral colors.
VALUE
Student will learn to identify high key and low key painting, VALUE contrast, graded VALUE and VALUES in atmospheric perspective. Objective:

Objective:
Student will learn to identify actual and simulated TEXTURES.
SPACE
Objective:
Student will learn to identify 2 dimensional space, and be able to create a linear perspective picture.
BALANCE
Objective:
Student will learn to identify how the different parts and elements in a composition BALANCE each other.
MOVEMENT & PATTERN
Objective:
Student will learn to use visual movement and planned repetition to create pattern and movement in their art.
RHYTHM
Objective:
Student will be able to identify regular, irregular and progressive RHYTHM and repetition of colors, shapes and lines to create rhythm.
CONTRAST
Objective:
Student will identify value CONTRAST, color intensity, and warm and cool color CONTRAST.
EMPHASIS & UNITY
Objective:
Student will learn that color, texture, shapes, and value are used to create UNITY. And to identify color dominance, focal areas, and visual EMPHASIS with shapes.
